Maya Plass is a marine ecologist, who is committed to sharing her love and knowledge of the  aquatic world. Maya has developed projects in the UK – such as Learn to Sea – and abroad to  encourage communities to protect our seas and oceans.

She has been a regular guest presenter on BBC Springwatch since 2009 – memorably taking Michaela Strachan on a crab-seeking mission in the latest series – and has appeared on several other TV shows.

Maya is the author of RSPB Handbook of the Seashore, published by Bloomsbury in May 2013 – full of incredible facts, stunning pictures, exquisite illustrations and the beloved sea creatures that Maya knows so well. To learn the story of how the book was commissioned, click here.
